Movies on Southwest Airlines: June 2020

Good afternoon Penny Pinchers! Following up on the last post we have the available films on Southwest for the month of June. At first glance it seems that we lost a number of titles. However, I have found in the pastor the first day of the month, the movies may not have been updated. This may explain why the “new” movies in June are actually the same in May. I will update it after my next flight if this is indeed the case. If anyone sees a more updated list, please let me know.

New Movies

Let’s start with the “new” movies introduced this month.

So according to the flight on the 1st June, Arctic Dogs, Cats, Dark Waters, Frozen II and The Good Liar were new. However, when you compare it to May 2020, all 5 were new during that month also.

It also means the latest Star Wars film and 1917 are not available which is disappointing for me personally.

All Movies

So 46 movies in total. Now I am going to tell you what has been around in previous months, so you can try to guess what will expire soon depending on how long each film has been running on Southwest Airlines. Again for a direct comparison see the previous post from May.

  • 12 strong: Before September 2019 (unbelievable…!)

  • Waves: Since March 2020
  • Western Stars: Since February

So looking at this list and comparing it to the previous post in May, the following titles expired, but due to this list being compiled early in the month it is possible that it hasn’t;t been fully updated especially since none of the new titles in June are actually new and also considering 3 new titles in May have already expired (which is very unusual if you look at previous posts).

  • A bad Mom’s Christmas (around since September 2019)
  • 1917 (this was only introduced in May, I suspect this could be a glitch)
  • Descendants 3 (around since December 2019)
  • Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (around since December 2019)
  • Finding Steve McQueen (around since October 2019)
  • Isn’t it Romantic (around before September 2019)
  • Just Mercy (this was only introduced in May, and like 1917 could be a glitch)
  • Late Night (around since December 2019)
  • Plus One (around since December 2019)
  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (also introduced in May)
  • The Kitchen (around since December 2019
  • The Lion King (around since January 2020

So there you have the list of titles and how long they have been around for. Which movie will you watch?

Enjoy!
